Are Real Food Real Tasty sauces made by us?
Yes! We handcraft each of our products ourselves with the use of a commercial kitchen. We design the recipes, source the ingredients, and make each product ourselves.
What types of ingredients do we use?
We use whole ingredients that any home chef might keep in their kitchen. We choose to use simple ingredients, allowing the fresh, locally sourced produce provide the intense flavor. We avoid using chemicals such as thickeners or preservatives. Instead, the primary preservative in most of our sauces is apple cider vinegar. We use just enough salt, sugar, and/or fat to make the flavor pop!
Where do we source our produce?
The main ingredients in our sauces are vegetables and/or fruit. We source the produce from as many local farms as possible. We begin with farmers in our county, and expand outwards. Our aim is to source as much produce from Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania as possible.
How hot are the hot sauces?
We put flavor first! We use the heat (from habaneros) to highlight the flavor rather than overpower it. That being said, our hot sauces have a kick, but not too much if you like heat. It’s just right amount to keep you coming back for more. There are hot sauces out there that have intense heat. However, we want you to be able to savor your meal, enjoy the explosion of flavor and come back for more.
What is the Hand Delivery Option?
When the shipping address is within 15 miles of Ellicott City MD, you will have the option to have your order hand delivered to you. This option allows us to keep a lower carbon footprint – using less energy and less packaging materials – and allows you to get your order sooner and for less than the flat rate shipping. With the Hand Delivery option, you will receive your order within 48 hours of placing the order.
What is Flat Rate Shipping?
Shipping is a flat rate within the United States. When selecting this option, your order will be shipped within 2 business days of placing the order (it may be longer due to holidays). This applies to all orders that are less than $75.
